Jyotsna Mohan
Jyotsna Mohan holds a Ph.D degree from the school of social science, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She worked as Asst Prof. in Statistics and Social science before joining the civil society sector. She has been working on policy advocacy for various socio-economic and environmental issues for the past 17 years and has been associated with the beyond 2015 campaign since its inception with specialization on governance, accountability, and linking human rights with development and democracy.
She has authored various reports on development and finance, in south-south cooperation, G20 issues apart from representing the country and the region (Asia) at various regional and global platforms exemplifying a strong civil society voice from the global south.
She has been working as a regional coordinator for Asia Development Alliance, a regional CSO platform for national CSOs in Asia and TAP Network for the past three years focusing on enabling and regulatory environment for the civil society, governance and accountability. As a regional coordinator, she has been documenting CSO-government engagement mechanism in the VNR process for the last 4 years. Apart from collecting and documenting various country reports, she focused on the Asia-Pacific in observing the challenges, gaps and opportunities in SDGs implementation, review and monitoring process and co-authored reports on Goal 16. Some of her contributions in the past few years include VNR Fact Sheet for Asia--Pacific- 2020, Realising the potential of goal 16 of the 2030 agenda to Promote and Protect civic space, Empowering Civil Society for National Reporting and Action on SDG 16.
